Many speak of the business world as a “cut-throat” business, as there are quite a few who try to take advantage of others, explaining their actions as being one of “survival tactics”, but that is questionable. Others say that “you reap what you sew.” The bottom line is that what you do to others speaks volumes of your integrity. So what will others say of you?
What does it take to improve your day?
Making Each Day Count- by "Taking The High Road"
Each day is full of opportunities, though most of us get our minds so bogged down with a menagerie of junk that we often miss out on opportunities of doing something positive for someone or being receptive to learning or growth opportunities that can be very beneficial to us and our loved ones. When you ask yourself what has consumed you that you made you miss out on some of life’s gifts, chances are you can’t even remember. Oh, that’s good, right? Your mind must have really been “on vacation”. But you are far from alone. The majority of us become distracted by too much junk.
So if you really want to do yourself a favor, start out by getting a good night’s sleep. To get up in the morning feeling refreshed and revitalized will position you to be more alert and aware of what is happening around you. With that comes the chance of seeing something that may inspire you or alert you to something that needs attention or an opportunity that would be valued.
Next, take the time to eat some form of healthy nourishment to get your heart pumping and support your body, which we depend on daily. No matter what we do in our lives, we will do it much better with a rested and nourished body. And don’t forget how important drinking water is. If you notice in many of these “disaster movies”, one critical point is for people to have water, which our bodies need.
At this point you realize that rest, nourishment, and water gets our bodies and minds off to a good start. Though there are many who may not rank this as a priority, having a positive mental attitude is another factor in the way we approach our lives, as well as how that impacts the outcome of each day. If we open ourselves up to be a good citizen and fellow human being, you should find that this approach to life contributes to the positive experiences and outcomes in our lives.
For those who are always looking for a quick win, where we fall into a pile of money, that is not likely to happen and may cause you to get discouraged each day. Instead, try not to look for the less likely, but instead give of yourself what you can, and you will find such rewards are more fulfilling. With our times becoming more stressful and concerning, we each need to be supportive of each other.
None of us knows what tomorrow may bring, though most of us are aware there could be rougher days ahead. So let’s do each other a favor and take better care of ourselves, and be good to others.
